Wat Pho

Wat Pho or Wat Phra Chetuphon, the oldest and largest was in Bangkok, was built in the 16th century during the Ayutthaya period and then almost completely rebuilt in 1781 by King Rama I. Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)

Wat Arun was founded in the Ayutthaya period. King Taksin the Great decided to shift the capital of Thailand to Thonburi. At the end of the royal barge procession, he arrived at Wat Arun at early dawn. Hence he named this temple Wat Jaeng, meaning the temple of Daw. Later on, its name was elaborated to Wat Arun Ratchtharam by King Rama II, and was under his designated patronage. Phra Phrang of Wat Arun, the impressive tall tower of the Temple of Dawn, is one of Bangkok's most-famous landmarks. Ferry : Pier N8

The open-air playhouse located on the western side of the Chao Phraya River opposite the Grand Palace and adjacent to the royal temple of Wat Rakang,. Patravadi Theatre produces plays in Thai based on poems from the country's own rich literary heritage. Performances meld Thai classic and folk techniques together with interntation elelments to create an entirely new type of contemporary Thai theatre It also provides training classes of Thai performances for adults and children.
